Engineering is a major component of every municipality’s operation because of its critical role in ensuring that local infrastructure is designed and managed in an effective manner. It can also be costly, particularly if a project is misunderstood, runs past schedule, or has numerous changes in scope.

To help municipal leaders, LGAA is partnering with the Consulting Engineers of Alberta to host a free webinar on what steps municipalities can take to have a more productive and cost-effective relationship with engineering service consultants.

Participants will leave this webinar with tips on:

  • How to save your municipality time and money when procuring the services of an engineering firm.
  • What strategies you may want to use when procuring services for small projects of just a few thousand dollars versus large multi-million dollar projects.
  • Understanding the role of your engineer and how to be on the same page about the scope of work for the project.
  • How to work with your consulting engineer on a day-to-day basis to reduce your costs, mitigate risks, and generate value for every project.
Who should attend?

Chief administrative officers, directors, managers, project managers, planning and development, procurement staff, in-house legal, or any other municipal employee who works directly with engineering firms.
